ALERT: We have become aware that someone purporting to be Kristine Anderson of Fern Law has been reaching out to individuals in the USA and Canada advising them of an inheritance from the Estate of Barbara Pfeffer. They are requesting a payment of an amount of money as an "administrative fee" to release the inheritance. THIS IS A SCAM - these emails are not coming from Kristine Anderson. The matter has been reported to the authorities in Ontario.

Kristine brings over 20 years of legal experience to Fern Law. Since her first year in law school, she knew she wanted to be in the courtroom advocating for clients. Crafting a solution that empowers her clients is her focus. Kristine deeply understands clients' needs and genuinely cares about every file.

Kristine is also a mediator who works with parties to obtain powerful solutions built on respect.

Anastasia Jones

Anastasia holds a PhD in History from Yale University and has now left her years in academia to pursue a career in law and to continue her love of learning. At Fern Law, she applies her intellectual curiosity and critical thinking to helping her clients solve their legal problems. Anastasia listens deeply and provides compassionate advice.

Taya Mikado

Taya brings a thoughtful, grief-informed approach to Fern Law, with a special interest in making life easier for clients navigating loss. Drawing on her experience and active involvement in grief peer support, she sees estate planning as a way to offer peace of mind now and care for loved ones later. Taya recognizes the challenges that can arise in estate disputes and is dedicated to simplifying complex matters with compassion and clarity.

Outside of law, Taya volunteers within the Japanese Canadian community, enjoys exploring new restaurants, and plays a variety of sports.
